Children’s checkups available at BDC
Most parents have been literally up to their eyeballs juggling home school with home working, or drop off and pick-ups with key working. Now that children are at last back to school it’s a great time to start getting back to normal routines, including regular dental checkups.
In common with most dental practices in the area, Beckenham Dental Centre prioritises child dental health, and we are still able to welcome new child patients as well as our existing patients. With the school holidays already fast approaching, if your children are overdue, please do ring us to book them in- we have set aside extra time to see children, and do remember that children up to age 18 (or 19 if in full-time education) can still be seen FREE of charge.
Children are most susceptible to dental decay at school age, notably when parental control is loosened, as they grow towards independence. It is so important to allow them the chance to take ownership of their dental health so they can make wise choices regarding snacks and oral hygiene.
The earlier children start seeing a dentist regularly, the better oral health outcomes they have, this is why we are involved with the national ‘C U by 1’ campaign. We encourage and educate them to resist the sweet treats and to use their toothbrush twice a day, with fluoride toothpaste!!!
Not only can we help our children avoid cavities, but we can also set them up for a lifetime of healthy teeth!
