Extractions & Oral Surgery
These are unfortunately still a vital part in maintaining a healthy mouth.
Teeth may be extracted to relieve crowding in orthodontic cases, or where a tooth has broken down so much as to be beyond restoration, or is causing infection.
Most teeth can be removed in the dental surgery, with a simple procedure performed under local anaesthetic to eliminate pain. However, for more complicated procedures, we are fortunate to be able to call upon 2 experienced oral surgeons who are able to work at our practice.
Occasionally a patient may require sedation or General Anaesthetic, in which case we can refer either to the dental teaching hospitals or to local private hospital specialist centres.
