beckenham dental careWe cover all dental treatments, so whether you require advice on whitening your teeth, veneers, crowns, bridgework or dentures we will be able to accommodate your needs – you just have to ask.

We have comprehensive programmes for both adults and children which are designed to prevent dental problems occurring in the first place. Please see our “Preventive Dental Unit” section for details.

Cosmetic Dentistry
An attractive smile can do wonders for self-confidence and is undoubtedly an important social asset. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your teeth, you may be surprised at the outstanding results that can be achieved.

Please see the list to the right for details of some of the treatments we can offer & also see our “Implants” page.

Cerec Restorations
CEREC is a system of computer aided designed dental restorations which are made in one surgery visit. This means you can be in and out in a single visit with a permanent, all ceramic crown, filling, or veneer.

The materials used are chemically bonded to your tooth, so your dentist can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.
CEREC uses strong, tooth coloured ceramic materials to restore your teeth not only to their natural strength, and function but also will be aesthetically pleasing. The materials used are so similar to the makeup of a natural tooth structure that afterwards when you eat/drink something hot and then have something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates so there is minimal post-treatment sensitivity.

beckenham dentistTooth Whitening:
This professional bleaching technique is the most used treatment of lightening up existing shade of teeth.

Veneer:
Veneers are like “false finger nails” in appearance only thinner & made from porcelain that cover exactly the visible surface of a tooth or another type possible is made from a ‘composite’ material.

They can be used on teeth to change their appearance if patient thinks they are unsightly, or they are discoloured, chipped or even to close gaps between front teeth.

Crowns:
A crown (also known as a “Cap”) can be made of tooth coloured porcelain, porcelain bonded to metal and also gold. A crown is like a made-to-measure shell that fits precisely over a tooth. You may require a crown if you have a tooth that is badly broken or heavily filled and so by “capping” it it will not only restore its appearance but also make it strong and function again.

Conventional Bridge:
Bridges are the answer to all those that have one or two teeth missing and don’t want to wear a denture as these are a permanent fixture in the mouth.

A conventional bridge consists of a false tooth/teeth (pontic) in the middle joined by crowned teeth on either side (abutments) to anchor it in the mouth. The pontic and abutments can be made from tooth coloured porcelain, porcelain bonded to metal and also non-precious metals depending on design.

Adhesive Bridges:
There are also adhesive bridges available for when less invasive preparation is required on the anchoring teeth. These consist of a false tooth in the middle with one or two metal 2 “wings” either side that bond onto the unseen surface of the anchoring teeth.
