Orthodontics services now available

 

at Beckenham Dental Centre

Beckenham Dental Centre welcomes Zahra Kordi to its team of specialists and is now able to offer orthodontic treatment to both children and adults.  Consultations will be available from early November and appointments are now being scheduled on Saturdays for maximum convenience.  Nick Patsias of Beckham Dental Centre said, “ We are delighted to have someone of Zahra’s calibre on the team in fact we are welcoming her back as she used to be one of our Associate Dentists.  With the addition of Orthodontics to the practice we are now able to offer a complete range of dental services and importantly patients can be seen immediately in their familiar environment without waiting to be referred elsewhere.”

Nearly 1 million people in the UK started having orthodontic treatment in 2009 and it has become increasingly popular with adults especially since the development of clear braces. Orthodontic treatment helps people bite correctly, eat more comfortably and care for teeth and gums more easily.  The most common reason for people seeking treatment is to straighten their teeth and improve their smile. Treatment almost always involves using braces to straighten crooked, crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps between teeth and correct the bite of the teeth.

In 2007, Zahra was awarded her Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. In 2008, she commenced her specialist training in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital and Institute in London, gaining her Master’s degree in orthodontics with distinction and successfully completed her specialist membership examination in orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. She was also awarded the 3M Clinical Excellence prize at the Eastman Dental Hospital.

Currently, Zahra is a senior registrar in orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London and Mayday Hospital, Croydon to complete her training to become an orthodontic consultant.
